About SeaBits LLC

SeaBits LLC ("SeaBits," "we," "us") is a marine consulting and systems integration business based in Washington State. We provide remote consulting, on-site electrical and systems installation, and educational content and membership services to boat owners and marine industry professionals. These terms govern all engagements with SeaBits, including consulting sessions booked online, project estimates and invoices, and website membership subscriptions.

1. Consulting Services

Remote consulting sessions booked through SeaBits' scheduling system are billed at the posted rate for the session duration selected. Payment is collected at the time of booking via Stripe. Sessions are non-refundable once the session has occurred. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance via the link in your booking confirmation email. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be forfeited at SeaBits' discretion.

Remote consulting is advisory in nature. SeaBits provides recommendations and guidance based on the information available during the session. SeaBits is not responsible for outcomes resulting from the client's independent implementation of that guidance on their vessel.

2. On-Site Installation and Project Work

On-site work is governed by a written estimate or invoice issued by SeaBits. All on-site work is subject to the following terms:

Estimates. Estimates are prepared in good faith based on available information and are not fixed-price commitments. Boats are complex systems and work often reveals conditions not visible at the outset — actual scope and cost may change once work is underway. SeaBits will notify the client before exceeding the estimate and provide options to proceed. Billing reflects actual time and materials worked. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.

Rates and charges. Billing includes labor at SeaBits' posted hourly rate, plus materials at retail cost, applicable sales tax, and project expenses including travel, mileage, ferry fares, parking, parts runs, and lodging if overnight travel is required and the client does not provide accommodations.

Sales tax. Installation labor and materials are subject to Washington State sales tax at the applicable rate for the jurisdiction where work is performed. Remote consulting and advisory services are not subject to sales tax.

Payment. Payment is due net-15 from invoice date. Accepted methods include credit card and ACH bank transfer. Unpaid balances after 30 days are subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month. SeaBits reserves the right to suspend work on open projects where invoices remain unpaid beyond 30 days.

Workmanship. All installation work is performed in accordance with ABYC electrical standards and best practices. SeaBits will remedy, at no charge, any installation failure caused solely by SeaBits' workmanship. This warranty does not cover failures resulting from pre-existing vessel conditions, water intrusion or corrosion, improper operation by the owner or others, or interference from systems outside the scope of the engagement.

3. Membership Subscriptions

SeaBits offers paid membership tiers providing access to premium content, resources, and community features on seabits.com. Memberships are billed on a recurring basis via Stripe at the rate selected at signup. You may cancel your membership at any time; access continues through the end of the current billing period. SeaBits reserves the right to modify membership pricing or content offerings with reasonable notice.

4. Intellectual Property

SeaBits retains all intellectual property rights in wiring diagrams, system designs, written reports, documentation, and other deliverables produced in connection with any engagement, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients receive a non-exclusive license to use deliverables for the specific vessel or project for which they were created. Content published on seabits.com, including articles, reviews, and project reports, may not be reproduced or republished without written permission.

5. Limitation of Liability

SeaBits' liability in connection with any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that specific engagement. SeaBits is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind. Marine electrical and systems work involves inherent complexity and risk; SeaBits' recommendations and installations are made in good faith based on available information and accepted industry standards.

6. Dispute Resolution

SeaBits will make good-faith efforts to resolve any concerns informally. If you have a concern about work performed or services provided, please contact us directly before pursuing other remedies. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.

7. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

8. Changes to These Terms

SeaBits may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at seabits.com/terms. Continued use of SeaBits' services following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Contact

Questions about these terms or any SeaBits engagement can be submitted via the contact form at seabits.com/contact.
